I am of several minds.
Looking back is by nature the salt of tears. Not so much for disobedience but for lack of, in the most literal interpretation, forward-thinking. In which case it is merely a penalty for lack of industry. If it is not half a league onward, it is in decline.
Then of course there is the question of obedience. When a power bids you look only forward, it is best to obey, perhaps.
But I find each of these a little lacking. Perhaps it was only she who was willing to fully witness the genocide of righteousness. Perhaps she was turned into salt because she saw too much.
